A bit about me.

I'm a senior product designer and fractional CPO with 15 years in the design industry. Started in graphic design, moved through digital, and for the last six years I've been focused on product design. Building apps, running projects end to end, and working directly with business owners. You can see my full body of work on my product design portfolio.

I've always been independent. I've worked on contract across a lot of different companies and a lot of different industries. I've sat in co-working spaces surrounded by startup founders and business owners for years. I understand the pressure of putting your own money into an idea. I understand wanting it done properly. And I understand that when you've been thinking about something for a long time, you need someone who takes it as seriously as you do.

Why I started Apps with Rob

I started this because I kept watching the same thing happen. Someone with a great idea goes to an agency, gets passed around, the designs come back generic, and then the project blows out in development because no one was thinking about build costs from the beginning. I've seen it too many times. If one person just owned the whole thing, the research, the design, the prototype, the handoff, most of those problems go away.

That's what Apps with Rob is. One experienced designer who runs your whole project. No layers. No handoffs between strangers. No one learning on your dime.

Industries I've worked across

I've built apps across NDIS and accessibility, trade education, automotive, events and party planning, communication tools, and a handful of my own projects. I've failed plenty of times. That's where most of the useful knowledge comes from.

The network

One of the benefits of fifteen years of independent work is the people you meet along the way. The developers I work with have decades of experience and love what they do. The marketing partner I refer clients to specialises exclusively in apps and is driven by data. These are people I've worked with and trust. When I connect a client with them, my reputation's on the line, and that's exactly how I want it.
